Frequently Asked Questions

Of all the suppliers making your big day a success, the photographer is often the one person who sees more of your day, your guests and family than anyone else. I'm often the first to arrive and last to leave.

Having photographed hundreds of weddings, I've compiled some of the most frequently asked questions.

HOW DO I WORK?

I love natural, relaxed, candid images. I will never ask you or your guests to pose and definitely not ask you to say 'cheese'. I understand some people don't like having their photo taken and will never be intrusive. Also I won't be the shady character at the back of the room, instead I'll be in with the crowd and the action, capturing the important moments and all the laughter and emotion as it happens which make beautiful, natural images.

HOW LONG WILL YOU STAY ON THE DAY?

I'll stay as long as you want me. I typically arrive during the bridal prep during hair and make up and leave when the party is over.

WHERE ARE YOU BASED?

I live in Cwmbran with my beautiful wife Katy, little girl Evie and Poppy the Morkie. I regularly travel all over the UK and all my travel costs are included.

HOW MANY PHOTO'S WILL WE RECEIVE?

This depends on how long you want me on the day, how many guests you have, the start time of the ceremony and travel time between venues - usually its at least 500+ images, often many more!

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECEIVE OUR PHOTOS?

Normally no more than 4-6 weeks after your wedding. I meticulously check and edit every photo to the highest standard and make sure your photo's are perfect before you see them.

DO YOU TAKE GROUP PHOTOS?

Absolutely, if you want them. I have a very efficient system for the formal group shots which takes no more than 10-15 minutes when everyone is looking their best.

At some point before the wedding, you can let me know of any particular groups or family shots you want.

WHAT ABOUT BRIDE & GROOM PORTRAITS?

It's always great to find a few minutes during the day where you can be alone as a couple, go for a walk, talk, laugh and relax. The day goes so quickly and this is often the first opportunity you have to be together and relax - I'll be there hanging back capturing you together. These shots make beautiful memories and most likely the ones to go on the wall at home and cover of your album.

CAN WE BUY AN ALBUM?

Yes of course. I have various albums available to suit all tastes, hand made from the highest quality workmanship and materials.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

Grab an umbrella - Arrange for the groomsman to have umbrellas standing by just in case - black or rainbow umbrellas are best!

If its really stormy we can just shoot inside.

ARE YOU INSURED?

Absolutely. I am fully insured with Public Liability and Professional Indemnity cover. Certificates can be provided if your venue requires.

WHAT IF YOUR CAMERA BREAKS?

Its never happened yet (touch wood) and I have back ups of everything. I always have at least two professional high end cameras, a selection of lenses and more batteries and memory cards than I could ever use. Each camera writes to two memory cards simultaneously and I regularly back up images throughout the day.

WHAT IF YOU ARE ILL OR LATE?

I have never yet missed a wedding and will never cancel

(I can't believe how many photographer pull out)

If the worst should happen, I have a mutual agreement with a number of awesome photographers where we will step in for each other and I will arrange a replacement photographer for you. I am never late and will often stay close by the night before to beat the traffic.

TRAVEL?

Yes please! I love traveling and regularly work all over the UK. All my travel costs are included within the UK. Please let me know about overseas and we can agree reasonable costs.

DO WE NEED TO FEED YOU?

Really not needed, but very much appreciated. No one likes having their photo taken whilst eating so the wedding breakfast is usually the time where I will get a short break, back up your images so far and change batteries etc.

 HOW DO WE BOOK?

I'm always so grateful and excited to meet new couples and be part of your big day.

Please fill in the contact form here and I will get right back to you. We can arrange a call, FaceTime or meet up for a coffee to discuss your plans. No obligation.

I require a £250 deposit via PayPal to secure your date and this is then taken off the total due up to 30 days before your wedding.
